Evidently, the soaring demand for AI capabilities has been a significant windfall for AMD, according to its recent earnings statement. This drastic drop can be largely blamed on the effect of price inflations and a dearth of components, an unfortunate combination which has affected sales of popular gaming consoles such as Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, and Valve’s Steam Deck.
Fortunately for AMD, regardless of the setbacks in the gaming sector, the overall financial performance remained impressive. Its revenue elevated by 50 percent year-over-year to peak at a colossal $11.5 billion. It’s important to note that the data center segment deserves a major chunk of the credit for this growth spurt, having accounted for 58 percent of the company’s total revenue.
