Anyone tuning in for Apple’s most recent product showcase was treated to a rapid-fire series of updates affecting nearly the entirety of their product line. In just over an hour, viewers saw everything from redesigned AirPods and Apple Watch upgrades to the new iPhones we’ve all been waiting for. Although shorter and more streamlined when compared to past keynotes, this event still made quite the splash in the tech world.
Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, did not hold back his enthusiasm when describing the new iPhone lineup, going so far as to call it “the biggest leap ever for iPhone.” However, in today’s technologically advanced world where AI breakthroughs are almost constantly being touted by tech companies, many viewers were left wondering why Apple didn’t emphasize more on artificial intelligence during their event.
Apple did make a few references to its AI initiatives, dubbed “Apple Intelligence,” but these mentions were perhaps too fleeting to catch the audience’s full attention. Even during the presentation of the latest iPhones, which are set to be powered by an enhanced version of Apple silicon that aims to improve performance for various tasks, including gaming and machine learning, “Apple Intelligence” was not put at the forefront.
