Współzałożyciel Instagrama, Mike Krieger, przenosi się do zespołu Anthropic Experimental Labs

Mike Krieger Moves to Hands-On Role at Anthropic

Mike Krieger, Instagram’s co-founder and a leading figure at Anthropic since 2022, is shifting gears within the AI startup. Moving away from his previous position as the company’s chief product officer, Krieger is set to co-lead Anthropic’s in-house incubator team, “Labs.” The transition indicates a strategic pivot for Krieger, as he migrates from executive leadership to take on a more technically involved role.

Anthropic’s Labs team had a humble beginning. It was quietly launched in mid-2024 with a meager two-member team as a minor initiative. Nonetheless, Anthropic has chosen to escalate the team, emphasizing development of curious products that test AI’s boundaries. The team’s expansion represents Anthropic’s resolve to cultivate ingenuity internally.

Shake-Up in Labs Leadership and Product Strategy

In this new role, Krieger will become a “member of technical staff” and will liaise directly with the Anthropic president, Daniela Amodei. He’ll be joining forces with Ben Mann, the former head of product engineering at Anthropic, to steer the Labs team. This dynamic duo looks set to deploy Krieger’s experience with product vision and Mann’s expertise in engineering to helm groundbreaking ventures.

As Krieger transfers out of his previous role as chief product officer, a new leader steps up to fill the gap. Ami Vora, who currently heads the product at Anthropic, will now oversee the company’s wide-ranging product strategy. This transition ensures that product development continues to thrive while giving the Labs team enhanced independence and creative liberty.

Anthropics Investment in Future Innovation

Anthropic’s decision to back its internal incubator aligns with a larger trend among AI companies to construct cutting-edge tools and apps internally. With Krieger and Mann steering the ship, the Labs team looks set to become a vital source of experimental innovation inside the company.
