Die MIT-Quanteninitiative (QMIT) is thrilled to introduce a new postdoctoral fellowship program, designed to turbocharge interdisciplinary quantum research. Bolstered by a significant grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the program encapsulates QMIT’s goal to break new ground in quantum science, encouraging researchers to fuse quantum tactics with other disciplines and applications.
Eine Startrampe für Quanten-Koryphäen
The quantum research landscape is increasingly complex, and investing in talented early-career researchers is utterly critical. These new fellowships serve as an incubator for up-and-coming quantum talent, granting them the resources and community connections they need to catalyze groundbreaking research at MIT. “Quantum science and technology offer extraordinary opportunities to solve complex problems across computation, materials, sensing, and communication,” according to Anantha Chandrakasan, MIT provost and a leading voice in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Chandrakasan shares that this program will help MIT attract innovative researchers who will shape the quantum field’s future.
QMIT, eine strategische Initiative Start im Dezember 2025, endeavors to serve as a rendezvous point for researchers from across MIT to expedite quantum discovery. Its vision is to address society’s pressing scientific, technological, and security challenges with quantum solutions. As Danna Freedman, the Frederick George Keyes Professor of Chemistry and the faculty director of QMIT, puts it, “Quantum science is becoming more interdisciplinary, and exciting breakthroughs will likely come from researchers who blend quantum expertise with perspectives from other fields. This fellowship aims to cultivate those kinds of opportunities.”
“The QMIT fellowship program is an investment in talented postdoctoral scholars who will usher in novel quantum capabilities with transformative applications in science and technology.” These are the words of Ian Waitz, MIT’s vice president for research and the head of QMIT, who sees a bright future for quantum research.
